Reporting overview
Availability:Timeora TimeFeature: reportsPermission: reports.read
Reports turn time entries into answers. They share one date range and one page, so switching between report types does not lose the period you were looking at.
Choose the right report
Section titled “Choose the right report”| Question | Report type |
|---|---|
| How did the period go overall? | Overview |
| How much time went into a project, and how does it compare to the budget? | Project |
| Which activities consume the most time? | Activity |
| What did we do for a client? | Client |
| What did a person work on? | User (administrators) |
| How is the team doing? | Team (managers with a team) |
The report page only offers the types your role can read. If a type is missing, the underlying permission is missing too.
Export
Section titled “Export”The Export module produces a file for the selected period, typically for payroll or a spreadsheet model. It requires the export feature and export.read.
Notes on the numbers
Section titled “Notes on the numbers”- Only entries inside the selected range are counted. The range is shared with the timer, so check both views against the same period.
- Entries without a project appear in overview and user reports, but not in project or client reports.
- Effective worked time in reports follows the organisation’s working-time settings, not the raw sum of punches.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”reports.read opens the page. reports.readAll widens the data to the tenant; without it, report data is limited to your own scope. The user report is administrator-only and the team report requires a manager with a team.
